At the very start of my of the term my project manly focused on the patterns and movement throughout the day, lately though it has moved on to faces and distortion of the faces!

In this I used plywood for the wood and used a jigsaw to cut out the pieces to create the shape of the faces features such as the nose, mouth, eyes etc.

I wanted to see the effect that spray paint would give to my stencil face so I got some brown paper to see the effect that the paper would give!
Print

I went down to printing were I got Des  one of the Tudors who was very helpful and helped me print my stencil and also the blocks that were left behind when doing so!

I did this the reverse way without using the stencil I used the remaining blocks to see the effect I would get!

These were the remaining blocks from the stencil!

Working with nails!
I decided to experiment and make a face out of screws!

This is part the back of my srews piece , I found this in many ways more interesting than the front!
This is the effect that I got of the nails at the opposite side of the wood, for me I find that the reverse side is a lot more interesting!

This is the completed face with the nails, I have tried to make some of the nails shorter than others to give an effect of the face!

These are just close up images of the face!

I covered the screw piece with clean film so that I could cover clay over it and create a ceramic piece from it!

I then rolled the piece of clay all over the screw place and rolled it out flat to create an effect of the screw piece coming out!

This is a wooden face I made using wood, I made all the shaped stand on different heights by using wire that I got from a hanger, I created the shapes by sanding with an electric sander!

Wooden Faces!

Work with print!
This is a print I made, I wanted to represent here a distorted face! I wanted to use print as a medium as I had not done much work with it up to then!
Here is another print I made of a face being distorted by water!
Work with collage!
In these images here I was trying to use different mediums such as magazine cutouts! As I do not want to use pencil I have been experimenting with collage in my sketchbook!
Sketchbook work!

In these images I got paper and was experimenting with cutting out and spraying and painting to see the effect I got from the other side!

Latex!
In this I made a mould of my face using plaster Paris and then pored latex into the mould to see the effect I would get. I made a few of these and sewed them together!

Ceramic work!

I used the clay in the ceramics building to get a mould of my screw face I plan to fire this and then glaze it alt though I am not completely pleased with the results!

I was tring to experiment with ceramics and clay, I wanted to create a distorted face of lots of different faces attached to one!
These were just experiments with clay that I used to create a distorted face!

Her I was experimenting with asitate and paint to give the effect of a face being pulled by clingfilm!

These were some pictures I took of people putting clean film on there face and pulling it to create this effect!

These are pictures to represent the face being pulled by clingfilm!

During the next few weeks I plan to get a picture of lots of people doing this with there face and also using the ceramic and print rooms!
