ACCORDIAN PLEATS:

Accordion pleats are a type of fine narrow regular pleating creating by sewing or pressing minute darts into the fabric of dress and skirts usually from the waistband towards the hem. They are also used for some dress sleeves such as pleating at the end of the elbow, with the fullness gathered closely at the cuff. Accordion pleats were especially popular during the 1920s and 1950s!
