GUSSET:
A gusset is a triangular or rhomboid piece of fabric inserted into a seam to add breath or reduce stress from tight fitting clothing. Gussets were used in shoulders, underarms and hems of traditional skirts and chemises made of triangular lenghts of linen to shape a garments to the body.Gussets are also used in the manufacturing of tights.
